Dental Technology is changing so fast that one who doesn't keep abreast with the same is most likely to lag backwards as the patients are very well informed these days. Patients will google anything they will find new and get innumerous results from the same. For my patients' benefits, I am posting certain newer technologies which are emerging fast as the Who's Who of Dentistry.

Czar is rooted on the use of the Dental Wings scanner, and the DWOS software for scanning of models and restoration designing. The frameworks are cut out of blocks of varied materials employing a 5 axis milling machine from Yenadent, a company with unparalleled expertise in the art of milling. The E max Ceram is used by to layer the structure and gives superlative aesthetics results.
The lifelike aesthetic appearance of the IPS Emax Ceram layering ceramicis impressive. The unique combination of translucency, brightness and opalescence is responsible for the true-to-nature light scattering and a balanced relationship between the brightness and chroma of the restorations.

The Procera (one of the first of a Metal free type) process utilizes a computer-aided design (CAD) system. Your die is scanned, a digital file is created, and then the high-strength coping is created from that file. Advantages:
Estimated Cost Approx. Rs. 13,000 – 14,000 per Crown (for both types mentioned below)
Procera comes in two kinds of copings below the Ceramic, both metal-free though:
Procera (Alumina) is composed of a densely sintered high-purity aluminum oxide coping that is manufactured using CAD/CAM technology. The core has the ability to transmit light without being transparent. The secret behind Procera is its unique combination of strength and beauty. Extremely low fracture rates have been reported and the restorations serve for many years. More and more patients are asking for restorations made of material not containing metal or other alloys. It is made of a bio-compatible material (comparable to Titanium) which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions.
Strength no longer has to be compromised to achieve extreme esthetics. Procera Zirconia, made of Yttria Stabilized Zirconium (YZ) has substantial advantages compared to other dental materials: mechanical resistance, biocompatibility and fracture toughness two times greater than Alumina. The Flexural Strength of Zirconia restorations range from 900 to 1400 MPA. Conventional precious metal ceramics restorations are at 800 MPA or less. Metal ceramics cannot compete with the esthetics of Procera Zirconia. It is capable of being placed anywhere in the mouth and can accommodate 3 - 4 unit bridges. Procera Zirconia restorations can be inserted using conventional cementing techniques. Bonding is not required.
3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ is a zirconium oxide understructure that is pressed with a proprietary, pre-blended ceramic. Touted as one of the most esthetic restorations available, Lava is one of the most respected names in dentistry. Lava All - Ceramic System from 3M ESPE uses innovative digital technology and superior materials to help produce high quality restorations for the patients. Using the speed and precision of CAD/CAM technology, it creates all-ceramic crown and bridge substructures with Zirconia, an extremely strong, stable and fracture-resistant ceramic material.
The Lava frame Zirconia understructure is made utilizing CAD/CAM technology, a process during which the pinned and sectioned model is scanned with a 3D optical scanner, the understructure designed on the computer screen, and then the restoration milled using a pre-sintered Zirconia block. This milled block is then colored using one of eight shades matched to the VITA® Classical Shade Guide. Finally, the milled Lava frame is sintered for 10 hours to fully gain its high strength and fracture resistance. Preparations require removal of less tooth structure, and cementation accommodates even conventional techniques. Colorable frameworks that are thin and translucent ensure a natural and vital appearance. The result is efficient production of restorations with excellent esthetics, enduring strength and precise fit giving you one of the most durable and esthetic all-ceramic restorations available today.
Comes with a 3M ESPE backed 15 years Warranty.
Estimated Cost Approx. Rs. 15,000 – 16,000 per Crown
Cercon is a high-tech substructure ceramic which has been specially developed for a long lasting effect and is able to withstand the enormous forces present when chewing. Environmental influences affect our lives. Therefore, special attention is drawn to biocompatible and physically tolerated solutions when it comes to dental prosthesis. White and ivory colored Cercon provides a veneer which is practically identical to the natural aesthetic color of teeth so that the new tooth looks as natural as your own. Cercon has proved its worth in many comprehensive international clinical studies. Cercon guarantees secure application of crowns and bridges.
Estimated Cost Approx. Rs. 10,000 – 12,000 per Crown
The copy-milling unit is a manually operated machine for the manufacture of crown & bridge framework made of Zirconia. A composite coping framework is scanned using a stylus and enlarged by a lever arm system (pantographic principle) and milled from a Zirconia blank specifically developed for this device. Any type of preparations can be milled with the Zirkograph, which are tangential, shoulder
and groove preparations. Furthermore, implant-borne bridges inlay bridges, 14-unit veneer bridges, continuous beams and individual dental implant prosthesis can be milled with this device. The milled framework is then dipped in a staining liquid corresponding to the selected shade and then sintered. The coping framework is then ready for porcelain veneering.

Air Abrasion is a technique applied instead of drilling, for removing decayed tooth, as well as for other dental treatments.
The instrument used for air abrasion has the semblance of a small sandblaster. Using this instrument, a mixture of extremely fine particles of baking soda, aluminum oxide, and silica are sprayed on to the surface of the tooth. These are sprayed with force, using compressed air or gas, through the hand-piece of the instrument. As the powered stream strikes the area, the decayed particles get sprayed off. The decayed portions that are thus removed are suctioned off after that
Air abrasion does have certain benefits over the conventional drilling of teeth. These are listed below:
A BPS brand denture is the result of a coordinated system of products, instruments, set-up techniques and training which are available exclusively to certified dental professionals.
The SR Ivocap System produces highly accurate methyl methacrylate-based dentures. After mixing, the material is injected into the flask under pressure. Constant pressure is applied during polymerization. As the denture base material flows consistently, the shrinkage of the material is optimally compensated.
Estimated Cost Approx. Rs. 15,000 per Denture Set
Flexible partial dentures are a comfortable, beautiful, and affordable choice. It was long thought that removable partial dentures had to be rigid to be effective. The innovation of the Valplast Flexible Partial allows the restoration to adapt to the constant movement and flexibility in your mouth. This is the underlying thinking behind Valplast's innovative flexible, removable partial denture. The flexibility, combined with strength and light weight, provides total comfort and great looks! The preparation is relatively simple because your natural teeth don't need to be altered in any way. The Valplast partial is virtually invisible because there are no telltale metal clasps and the material itself blends with the tissue in your mouth so that the only thing that shows is your beautiful smile.
When considering a removable partial, many people find the Valplast Flexible Partial to be the most comfortable option, and the final restoration can be made very quickly! While the cost is often higher than a partial made with visible metal clasps, the results of the flexible partial are beautiful, and patient satisfaction is very high.
The Valplast flexible partial involves only non-invasive procedures, and gives you confidence in your restoration while talking, eating, and most importantly: smiling!
Estimated Cost Approx. Rs. 8000 – 9000 for a Unilateral Denture & Rs. 17000 – 18000 for a Bilateral Denture (irrespective of the number of teeth in either case on either side)
